I tried to access my Outlook but a window popped up asking for my password. My password was not accepted. I changed my password and the new password was not accepted.

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

Since you are unable to sign in despite a successful password reset, this may indicate that your account is temporarily blocked due to the system detecting an unusual login pattern.

You will need to perform these steps to resolve this error:

    1. Perform a password reset via Incognito/InPrivate window using different devices and network services.
    2. If it doesn't work, wait exactly 48 hours to perform another password reset.

Important: Please make sure not to attempt to sign in or reset the password within that timeframe (48 hours), as this may reset the lock cooldown.

Once you have regained access, kindly secure your account in case there is unauthorized access and changes to your account by enabling the two-step verification feature and ensuring that your verification methods are updated on account.microsoft.com > Security > Manage how I sign in

Lastly, I recommend following the guide from this thread to prevent unauthorized logins: https://learn.microsoft.com/answers/questions/4049625/someone-is-repeatedly-trying-to-access-or-hack-my?forum=windows-all&referrer=answers

Thank you for your understanding! Please feel free to let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl

If your Outlook password is not being accepted, there are a few potential reasons and solutions you can consider:

    1. Synchronization Delay: After changing your password, there may be a delay in synchronization across Microsoft's systems. It can take some time for the new password to be recognized.
    2. Unauthorized Access: If someone else has access to your account, they might be changing the password back. Ensure that your account is secure.
    3. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): If you have 2FA enabled, you may need to provide a second verification method. If you see a prompt for a 2-digit number and do not recognize it, another device or app may be registered to your account.
    4. Stored Credentials: If you previously saved your credentials, they might not have been updated after your password change. You can try clearing the cached credentials in the Windows Credential Manager.
    5. Contact Microsoft Support: If you continue to face issues, consider contacting Microsoft Support for assistance, especially if you suspect unauthorized access.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue with your Outlook password not being accepted.
