Windows 11 download does not show up on windows update. I've already verified compatibility and requirements. The different check options just take me into a loop between System Update to the websites and back again.

What could possibly be wrong and how can I force the download to occur.

I'm on a licensed Windows 10 Home PC

    Hi Fred,

Try manually installing Windows 11. It is the same process, and more reliable.

    Download Windows 11

    https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/Windows11

Use the Installation Assistant to Download Windows 11

Alternatively, download an ISO file and Run Setup.exe to Start the Upgrade, using Windows 11 Media Creation Tool.

All the steps, including MCT and Installation Assistant, are covered here:

I hope that helps, and keep me posted.

If Windows 11 does not show up in Windows Update despite verifying compatibility, there are a few potential issues and solutions to consider:

    1. Ensure Windows 10 is Fully Updated: Make sure that your current Windows 10 installation is fully updated. Sometimes, pending updates can prevent the Windows 11 upgrade from appearing.
    2. Check Microsoft's Windows 11 Release Status: Occasionally, Microsoft may have a phased rollout for Windows 11, meaning not all eligible devices receive the update at the same time. You can check the status on Microsoft's official pages to see if there are any known issues or holds.
    3. Use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant: If the upgrade is still not showing, you can use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant. Download it from Microsoft's website, run it as an administrator, and follow the prompts to initiate the upgrade.
    4. Consider ISO File / USB Installation: As a more advanced option, you can download the Windows 11 ISO file from Microsoft and create a bootable USB drive. This allows you to perform the upgrade manually by running Setup.exe from the mounted ISO.
    5. Check for Storage Space: Ensure that you have enough storage space available on your PC, as insufficient space can prevent the upgrade from appearing.
    6. TPM and Secure Boot: Verify that TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are enabled in your BIOS settings, as these are requirements for Windows 11.

If you've tried all these steps and still cannot upgrade, you may want to consult Microsoft's support for further assistance.
