Hi, I'm John!
There is no way to bypass the security wait.
The 2-hour lock is built into Windows to protect your account after too many wrong PIN attempts. Even Microsoft cannot override it.
Your only options are:
- Wait for the timer to finish, or
- Sign in using another method (like your account password) if it’s available.
If you're using Microsoft Account method but issues persists:
If you can sign in your Microsoft account online, do you remember creating any backup codes?
These are 25-digit backup codes. If you have one, you can use it to sign in:
- You can find more details here: https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/microsoft-account-recovery-code-2acc2f88-e37b-4b44-99d4-b4419f610013 If you can sign in online, you may also be able to generate a new one if you don't have a backup code.
Then, on the Windows Hello sign-in screen:
- Click "I forgot my PIN" > "Send notification."
- If you previously activated Microsoft Authenticator but no longer have access, click "I don't have access to my Microsoft app."
- In the "Verify your identity" section, click "Show more verification methods."
- Click "I don't have any of these."
- In the "Do you have an account recovery code?" section, enter the 25-character Recovery Code.
After successfully signing in to Windows:
- Open Settings (Win + I) > Accounts > Sign-in options.
- Under PIN (Windows Hello), click "Set up" and follow the prompts to create a new PIN.
- If the PIN setup option is unavailable, click "I forgot my PIN" and follow the instructions.
I really hope this information is helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
Regards,
John J.D.
