How can I set Edge default print settings? They always default to incorrect settings.

Every time I print a PDF file from Edge, the print settings default to 41% size instead of actual size. I always have to remember to navigate to the hidden setting can change to actual size. I waste a lot of papers with tiny printouts because of this. All other applications default to the correct print size. I have the latest version of Edge 145.0.3800.58 on Windows 11 Home 25H2. This bad behavior began a few months ago.

    Hi,

Could you check whether the correct options are set under Windows Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners > select your printer > Printing preferences? As far as I know, for changes to apply system wide, they need to be configured in Windows Settings rather than inside the browser.

If everything there is already set to Actual size, try turning off “Let Windows manage my default printer” in Windows Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners, then test again to see if it makes a difference.

To set the default print settings in Microsoft Edge, you can follow these steps:

    1. Open Microsoft Edge.
    2. Click on the three dots in the upper right corner to open the menu, then select Settings.
    3. Navigate to System and performance.
    4. Click on Manage printers. This will open the Windows Settings for Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
    5. From here, you can select your printer and adjust the printing preferences, including the default paper size and scaling options.

If the print settings continue to default to incorrect values, you may want to check for updates or consider reinstalling the printer driver to ensure it’s functioning correctly.
