I want to add outlook.live.com to my bookmarks bar.

I use Chrome, and the only thing I did before running into this problem was that I had cleared the cache and cookies in an effort to remedy an issue I've been having with the communication website for a medical provider.. After that, I clicked on the icon I have used for years (it was on my bookmarks bar) to check my email, but instead, I landed on a page asking me for a subscription for Microsoft 365. There was no URL and no star icon. Now I'm not going to pay for a subscription for an email account that I have used for about 40 years and was originally Hotmail. A subscription is one thing, but changing almost everything about the the MSN email, so that I would have to re-learn where to click and getting used to how it looks, well, I can do that by switching to gmail and not pay an annual fee. Simple is best and I'm not one to fix what ain't broke.

So, I deleted my old outlook.live ican and I tried typing in outlook.live.com (this was before your response) in the URL but same problem. No URL, no star icon, and I wouldn't have bookmarked it anyway because it was just a ploy to get me to pay for Microsoft 365. I must have tried this a half dozen times before I posted my problem to the Community hoping someone had a fix. Then it occurred to me to go back into my browser history and click on an icon from when outlook.live.com worked without sending me to this extremely annoying full-page Microsoft 365 ad with no URL. And guess what, it worked. I was back to my old classic email and I quickly bookmarked it saving it to my bookmarks bar.

Sorry about the delay in replying. Work and medical issues were taking the front burner, but I thought I should tell you that I appreciate your willingness to help, but I had already tried your remedy before I saw your response, and that remedy would not have worked.

An unfortunate situation, especially since I recently spent days cleaning up my Inbox and all the folders in the navigation pane. I am left with wondering when Microsoft is going to try to hijack and hold my email ransom and a sense of distrust for MSN.

Thanks for you efforts though.

To add Outlook to your bookmark, please follow these steps:

If you are using Google Chrome: Go to Outlook on web, click on the star icon on the right, choose Folder as Bookmark bar, then you will be able to see Outlook in your bookmark bar:

If you are using Edge: Go to Outlook on the web, to your right, there will be a star icon, click on it and click Done. There will be Outlook on your bookmarks bar
