Hi SheltonGuy
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. From what you shared, I understand how frustrating it is when New Outlook for Windows keeps asking for a password but won’t let you enter the correct Xfinity/Comcast user ID.
Just to confirm, when you try to add the account in New Outlook, do you see any error message on the screen?
Please try the following:
- Remove the Comcast account from new Outlook and add it back
- In new Outlook: View settings > Accounts > Your accounts
- Find the Comcast account > Manage > Remove
- Restart Outlook, then re-add it.
- When New Outlook asks for server details, use Xfinity’s official IMAP/SMTP settings:
Incoming (IMAP)
- Server: imap.comcast.net
- Port: 993 with SSL
Outgoing (SMTP)
- Server: smtp.comcast.net
- Port: 587 (or 465 if needed)
- Encryption: TLS (use SSL if TLS isn’t shown)
Username / sign-in: Use your full Comcast email address
For more details, you can see these official guides:

Please let me know how it goes. I truly appreciate your time and understanding!
