Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

You can’t set up Microsoft 365 without adding a payment method first, even if you plan to turn off recurring billing later. After setup, you can sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/services and turn off recurring billing from there.

About the freezing issue, does it freeze right after you complete the CAPTCHA/puzzle? Are you using a browser or the Microsoft Store app?

To set up Microsoft 365 on your laptop, you can follow these steps:

    1. Go to the official Microsoft 365 website and sign in with your Microsoft account.
    2. Once signed in, navigate to the installation section where you can download the Microsoft 365 installer.
    3. After downloading, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Regarding the recurring billing, you can turn off recurring billing for your subscription. This means that while your subscription will remain active until it expires, you will need to manually pay for it when it's due. To manage your recurring billing settings, you can do the following:

    1. Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
    2. Select the subscription you want to manage.
    3. On the subscription details page, look for the option to edit recurring billing and turn it off.

If you encounter issues such as freezing after payment, it may be best to contact Microsoft support for assistance, as they can help resolve any technical problems you are experiencing with the setup process.
