Hi Siannan Hendon,
Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.
The behavior when your setup was working fine before and suddenly the sound no longer plays through your Google TV is usually related to how Windows 11 re‑detects audio devices after an update.
Here are some possible troubleshooting steps that you can consider in this case:
1, Re‑enable the TV audio device
- Press Win + R, type
mmsys.cpl, and press Enter - In the Playback tab, right‑click in the empty area
- Enable Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices
- If your TV or HDMI audio appears, Enable it and Set it as Default
2, Confirm the sound output in Settings
- Go to Settings > System > Sound
- Under Output, select your TV / HDMI / Display Audio device
- Make sure it isn’t muted and the volume is turned up
3, Restart audio services
- Press Win + R, type
services.msc - Restart Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
4, Refresh the HDMI audio driver
- Open Device Manager
- Expand Sound, video and game controllers
- Right‑click Display Audio (Intel / AMD / NVIDIA)
- Choose Roll Back Driver (if available) or Uninstall, then restart
