Dear Microsoft Billing Support team,

I purchased Microsoft 365 Family using my personal Microsoft account on 23 July 2025 (Invoice No: [Moderation note: Personal information removed]).

This purchase is being used for academic reimbursement purposes, and my institution requires the invoice to include their GSTIN. At the time of purchase, the GST number was not added to the billing profile.

GST IN need be added is: [Moderation note: Personal information removed]

I kindly request you to let me know whether it is possible to:

• Reissue the invoice with my GSTIN included

Regards,

[Moderation note: Personal information removed]

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum

As per Microsoft’s billing policy for India, GSTIN must be added to the billing profile before the invoice is generated. Once an invoice has been issued, Microsoft does not support reissuing or revising invoices to add GSTIN retroactively.

Unfortunately, for purchases already completed (including Microsoft 365 Family bought using a personal Microsoft account), it is not possible to add GSTIN or obtain a revised GST invoice after the purchase date.

GSTIN can only be applied to future purchases or renewals after updating the billing tax information in advance.

For your reference: TO register my GSTIN Number and to obtain GST Tax Invoice

    Thank you for your understanding
