Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Notepad.

but that does not exist

    Hi Velson,

    You need not to go in the Registry.

    1. Open your file in Notepad.
    2. Go to the File menu and select Save as... (or press Ctrl + Shift + S).
    3. In the "Save As" dialog box, look for the Encoding dropdown menu next to the "Save" button.
    4. Select UTF-16 LE from the list.
    5. Click Save. If the file already exists, click Yes to replace it.
