Issue with Microsoft Safety

Hello,

I want to explain the full situation clearly.

My main Microsoft account used on my Windows PC is:

  • ******@gmail.com

A few days ago, I mistakenly entered the wrong birth date in my Microsoft account. Because of that, Microsoft started treating my account as a minor/teen account.

Due to this, Microsoft Family Safety was automatically applied and it started asking for adult permission to access apps like:

ChatGPT (Desktop app)

LinkedIn

Spotify and other apps

It was sending permission emails to:

******@gmail.com (this was previously linked as a family/organizer account)

Later, I corrected my birth date and updated it properly. My account now shows that I am 20 years old.

I also:

Removed the other email account from Family.

Checked Family settings — it shows no organizer and no active family members.

Confirmed that my account shows Administrator on my PC.

Logged out and logged back into my Microsoft account.

Contacted support previously and they confirmed there is no active family setup.

However, even after all this:

My Windows PC still shows “Ask for permission – You need to ask an adult in your family.”

Apps like ChatGPT and LinkedIn are still blocked.

It still behaves like my account is under Family restrictions.

The restriction seems to be stuck at device level or profile level.

I want to completely remove Microsoft Family Safety and any remaining restrictions from:

My Microsoft account

My Windows device

My user profile

Please check from backend and fully disconnect my device and account from any Family Safety configuration.Hello,

It seems that your Microsoft account is still experiencing restrictions related to the Family Safety settings, even after you have corrected your birth date and removed any associated family accounts. Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve this issue:

    1. Check Family Safety Settings: Ensure that there are no lingering family settings by visiting the Microsoft Family Safety website. Make sure your account is not listed as part of any family group.
    2. Remove Family Safety from Device: You can try to remove Family Safety from your Windows device by going to Settings > Accounts > Family & other users. Check if there are any family members listed and remove them if necessary.
    3. Reset Family Safety Settings: Sometimes, resetting the Family Safety settings on your device can help. You can do this by going to Settings > Privacy & security > Family Safety and selecting the option to reset.
    4. Sign Out and Back In: After making changes, sign out of your Microsoft account on your Windows PC and then sign back in. This can help refresh the account settings.
    5. Contact Microsoft Support Again: If the issue persists, it may be beneficial to contact Microsoft Support again. Explain the situation in detail, mentioning that you have already corrected your birth date and removed any family settings. They may be able to assist you further in removing any stuck restrictions.

These steps should help in resolving the issue with Family Safety restrictions on your account and device.
