    Hello @Lendacká Lucia, MUDr

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Community!

Thank you for reaching out. I understand you’re able to enter your username and password to sign into your Work account, but Teams stops you afterward with a message indicating that you don’t have permission.

Based on the behavior you described, this typically happens when the account is recognized, but the permissions or access settings in your organization are preventing the login from completing. Below are the most common reasons and what we can check to fix it:

    1/ License Not Assigned

Your work account may be active, but it might not have a Microsoft Teams–compatible license assigned. To resolve this, kindly ask your organization’s IT admin to verify the following:

    • Go to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center
    • Navigate to Users > Active Users
    • Select your account and open Licenses & Apps User's image
    • Ensure a license that includes Microsoft Teams (e.g., M365 Business Basic/Standard, Office 365 E1/E3/E5) is assigned and active

2/ Attempting to Sign into the Wrong Organization

If your account exists in multiple organizations or if Teams cached older sign‑ins, you may be directed to the wrong tenant.

    Please try the following:

    1. Sign out completely at Teams on the web
    2. Close and reopen your browser
    3. Sign in again using your full work email
    4. If prompted, choose your organization’s name to continue

3/ Permission or Access Restrictions in the Tenant

Your IT admin may need to confirm that:

    • Your account is enabled and not blocked from sign‑in
    • Your account is a member of the organization (not an unapproved guest)
    • Teams access is not restricted by security policies

These settings can be checked in Azure Active Directory and the Teams Admin Center.

4/ Cached Credentials Causing a Conflict

If you're using the Teams desktop app:

    1. Fully close Teams
    2. Clear the Teams cache:
      • Windows: %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams
      • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams
      1. Relaunch Teams and sign in again

For more details, kindly refer to this article: Clear the Teams client cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn

Please let me know whether you're using the Teams Desktop app, web version, or mobile app, and if you can share the exact message you see after logging in. That will help us troubleshoot more efficiently.

I’m here to help until everything is working smoothly again.

If you are unable to log in to your Society's Teams account and receive a message indicating that you do not have permission, it may be due to several reasons:

    1. Account Permissions: Your account may not have been granted the necessary permissions to access Microsoft Teams. You should contact your administrator to ensure that your account is set up correctly and has the appropriate permissions.
    2. Tenant Configuration: If your organization is using Microsoft 365 Education, Teams might not be enabled by default. Your admin would need to enable Microsoft Teams for your organization.
    3. Conditional Access Policies: If your organization has set up Conditional Access policies, these may be blocking your access. You should check with your identity management team to see if any policies are affecting your login.
    4. Expired Password: If your password has expired, you will need to reset it. You can ask your admin to reset it or follow the password reset process if you have access to the necessary tools.

Please reach out to your organization's IT support for further assistance with these issues.
