    Hello,

If clearing your browser cache or trying a different browser does not change the situation, it is possible that a temporary issue may be occurring on Microsoft’s side.

Please wait a few days and check again.

To add a new phone number to your Microsoft account, follow these steps:

    1. Confirm Your Recovery Phone Number: Go to the Microsoft account security page at https://account.microsoft.com/security. In the Security section, look for the Recovery options area and check if your new phone number is listed.
    2. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies: Sometimes, issues with adding a phone number can be resolved by clearing your browser's cache and cookies.
    3. Remove and Re-add Your Phone Number: If your new number is listed but you're still having issues, try removing it and then adding it again. Go to Security Info as described above, find your phone number listed under Recovery info, click Remove next to it, and then click Add Security Info to add your phone number again.
    4. Check for Microsoft Account Security Updates: Visit https://account.microsoft.com to check for any security alerts or required actions that may be affecting your ability to add a phone number.

If you continue to encounter the message that the service is temporarily down, it may be a temporary issue on Microsoft's end, and you might need to try again later.
