Why was I charged the increased renewal fee for my Microsoft 365 Family on the 4th February 2026, when the increase applied from the 14th February?

I was charged £104.99 to renew my subscription on the 4th February 2026, but was advised by email that the increase was applicable from the 14th February. I believe that I have been over charged by £25.

Kindly take note that the forum does not have access to user accounts to be able to check and intervene with account related and billing side of things and you can reach out to the support team at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/ and then click on Microsoft 365 and then click Get Home Support and then type in Billing question and click the blue button that says Sign in to contact Support and login and proceed from there or you can also request a call back by going to https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2168171.

Hello, good day and thanks for your question. Sorry to know about this, price increases applies based on the next renewal date and it should not be based on the public announcement date.

Even though the email said the new price starts on a specific date, the scenario is that the renewal already falls into the new pricing cycle and hence the higher price is charged at renewal.

That said, if the email specifically mentioned that your renewal before Feb 14 would stay at the old price then you may be entitled to a partial refund in which you may check this with the support team but there is no guarantee yet until it has been acknowledged and processed.
