can attach files to email

I'm having issues attaching files from one of my shared network path to my outlook or teams When I try to attach a document it gives the error "You can't open this location using this program. Please try a different location".

    After reviewing the details, I’d like to clarify that this behavior is by design. The New Outlook uses a modern, web-based architecture focused on security and consistency, which means hyperlinks to local files or folders (e.g., file:// paths or UNC paths) are currently blocked or unsupported. Microsoft recommends using cloud-based links such as OneDrive or SharePoint for file sharing, as these options provide better security, accessibility, and seamless integration with New Outlook.

    If you prefer using local file links rather than cloud-based links at this time, the recommended workaround is to switch back to Classic Outlook using the toggle in the Help menu.

    I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to your workflow. At present, there is no official roadmap indicating that this feature will be reintroduced. However, I truly value your feedback, as many users have expressed interest in having this functionality available again.
