My Hotmail account appears to have been hacked and has now been locked.

While reviewing my Sent Items, I noticed emails that were not sent by me. After completing my work, I received a message asking me to sign in again. Since then, I have been unable to access my account.

It is possible that the hacker has also changed my registered mobile number and recovery information.

I urgently request your assistance in restoring access to my email account.

Thank you for your support.

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

I'm sorry you are experiencing this, and that is a possibility.

If you no longer have access to the verification methods linked to your account (and if it is already removed by the hacker) The only way to recover/unblock a hacked account is through the official Microsoft troubleshooter guide:

    https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/how-to-recover-a-hacked-or-compromised-microsoft-account-24ca907d-bcdf-a44b-4656-47f0cd89c245

If the account recovery web form doesn't work, and if the security info has been replaced by the hacker, I'm afraid there is no other working method to recover the Microsoft account, and Microsoft Support cannot help either.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl

If your Hotmail account has been hacked and is now locked, here are some steps you can take to regain access:

    1. Account Recovery: Go to the Microsoft account recovery page and follow the prompts to recover your account. Use any recovery options available, such as alternate email addresses or phone numbers that you may have set up.
    2. Contact Microsoft Support: Since you are facing issues with access, it’s advisable to contact Microsoft Support directly for assistance. They can help you with account recovery and may have additional tools to verify your identity.
    3. Check for Account Activity: If you regain access, check your account activity for any unauthorized changes or settings, such as forwarding rules or linked accounts that you did not set up.
    4. Secure Your Account: Once you regain access, immediately change your password to a strong, unique one. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) again, and ensure that your recovery options are up to date.
    5. Monitor for Further Issues: Keep an eye on your account for any suspicious activity and inform your contacts about the potential compromise to prevent them from falling victim to phishing attempts.

If you continue to face issues with the recovery process, be persistent in reaching out to Microsoft Support for help.
