    Hi @Ramesh,

Thank you for your update. I’m sorry to hear that the issue is still happening even after following all the recommended steps.

At this point, the next best step is to have your IT administrator review your Microsoft 365 license assignment in the Admin Center. Since your subscription was recently changed, your admin can verify whether:

    • The Microsoft 365 Business Premium license is correctly assigned
    • There are no conflicting or expired licenses still attached to your account
    • Your account is syncing properly and not facing any directory or identity issues

If your IT team has already checked these settings but the problem still continues, please ask them to submit a support ticket through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Once submitted, a Microsoft Support Engineer can review your activation logs and investigate any backend licensing or activation conflicts more deeply.

Please note that forum moderators do not have access to user account settings and cannot assist with logging in, resetting passwords, or changing access rights. While we do not have access to internal systems or administrative tools required to resolve account-specific or backend-related issues but we’ll continue doing our best to support you within the scope of our responsibilities.

If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to let me know.

If you found the answer helpful, I would truly appreciate it if you could mark it as accepted. Doing so helps highlight the solution for others who may be searching for similar information in the community. Your contribution not only supports fellow users in finding the right guidance more quickly, but also helps build a more resourceful and collaborative space for everyone.

Thank you for your patience and collaboration.

    Warm regards.

    Hi @Ramesh,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for reaching out. I understand that you’re seeing the “Something went wrong” message when trying to sign in to activate Microsoft 365, and that this started after your license was changed from Microsoft Teams Enterprise to Microsoft 365 Business Premium (No Teams)

Here are some recommended steps you can try:

1/ Confirm that the correct license is assigned (and only one Office license is active)

In the Microsoft 365 admin center (admin permissions required), check that your account has the Microsoft 365 Business Premium license (which includes “Microsoft 365 Apps for business”). If any older or duplicate Office licenses are still assigned, remove them to avoid conflicts. Once done, sign out of Office completely and sign back in.

Reference: Unlicensed Product and activation errors in Office.

2/ Sign out of all Office apps

    • Open Word or Excel
    • Go to File > Account
    • Sign out of all accounts
    • Close all Office apps
    • Wait 1 minute and sign in back

3/ Clear cached credentials & identity information

This step is particularly useful after a license change.

    • Open Credential Manager > Windows Credentials
    • Remove MicrosoftOffice, ADAL, WAM, OneDrive, and any entries associated with your work email
    • Reopen Word or Excel and sign in again

If sign‑in continues looping, run the activation troubleshooter and reset the identity/activation state following: Reset activation state for Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise.

4/ Delete stale activation tokens (only if the reset didn’t do it)

    • Close Office apps, then delete the licensing token files at: %localappdata%\Microsoft\Office\Licenses\ (and, if you are using Shared Computer Activation %localappdata%\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Licensing\).
    • Reopen Word and sign in.

5/ Check whether you reached the 5‑device activation limit

6/ If the issue still continues

Please contact your IT admin so they can review your account and open a support ticket through the Microsoft 365 admin center. A Microsoft support engineer can then check the activation logs and resolve the licensing conflict.

I hope this information helps. Please try the steps and let me know whether they resolve the issue. If the problem persists, we can work together to find a solution.
