Hello! I am unsure how i did this but when I was younger I somehow linked my gmail that frankly has a silly address to my professional outlook email. Now when I log into teams people see my gmail address instead of my professional one. How do I fix this?
I have tried seeing if it is an alternative account but I don't see it linked anywhere. It will just switch from my Microsoft address to my gmail one depending on the platform.
Could this gmial on a different Microsoft account?
If you go to web browser incognito mode, then go to https://account.live.com, enter the gmail as username, and see if you can log in, if not, use forget password to see if you can recover. I am wondering if this turns out to be a separate Msft account.

Go to https://account.live.com > Your info > Sign in preference. If you already have another alias there, make the other one primary first. Then you can remove the gmail.
I went to the preference page and there is only one main alias and it is the one I want! There is no gmail shown. Somehow they are linked. Ty for helping tho!
Nope! It says it couldn’t find an account with that user name, however I can log in with either on the gmail site.

Yes, I am able to login on Gmail with my outlook address.
I am afraid there's some confusion here.
Whether you can sign into gmail or not is not relevant here. If your gmail address is linked to your Microsoft account, it simply uses the email address as a username for your Microsoft account, but it doesn't give your Microsoft account access to your Gmail.
Can you share a screenshot of this Teams thing you mentioned that somehow showed your gmail, so I can have some context. Feel free to mask partial email address to protect your privacy.
