    Hi Lyndy Shaw,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

The error code 0xc000012f usually appears when Windows is unable to load one of the supporting components an app depends on, rather than indicating a hardware issue with the device itself.

To help resolve this issue, please try the troubleshooting steps below in order:

1, Repair Microsoft Visual C++ components

    • Press Win + R, type appwiz.cpl
    • For each Microsoft Visual C++ entry, select Change > Repair
    • Restart Windows

    2, Repair Windows system files

    • Open Command Prompt as Administrator
    • Run sfc /scannow
    • Restart once the scan completes

3, Confirm .NET Framework is enabled

    • Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off
    • Ensure .NET Framework 4.x is checked
    • Restart if any changes are made

    4, Reinstall SketchUp (if needed)

    • Uninstall SketchUp
    • Restart the device
    • Reinstall and launch once using Run as administrator

The error code 0xc000012f typically indicates that there is a problem with a corrupted or missing file that is required for the application to run. In the case of SketchUp Pro, this could be related to the .NET Framework or other dependencies that SketchUp relies on. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Repair or Reinstall .NET Framework: Since SketchUp often relies on .NET Framework, ensure that it is properly installed and not corrupted. You can repair it via the Control Panel or download the latest version from the Microsoft website.
    2. Check for Missing Dependencies: Ensure that all necessary dependencies for SketchUp Pro are installed. This may include Visual C++ Redistributables or other libraries.
    3. Run as Administrator: Sometimes, running the application with administrative privileges can resolve permission-related issues.
    4. Check for Corrupted Installation: If the above steps do not work, consider uninstalling and then reinstalling SketchUp Pro to ensure that all files are correctly installed.
    5. System File Checker: You can run the System File Checker tool to check for and repair corrupted system files. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command sfc /scannow.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, you may want to check the SketchUp support forums or contact their support for further assistance.
