My PC only runs videos in slow motion, and all sounds too, I checked the task manager but everything seems fine, no GPU, CPU or RAM excessive usage, it started this morning and I have no idea what it could be. I tried using multiple browsers but the issue is still there, so it's not related to that.

    Hi lel0001,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum. I'm happy to help.

Your problem might be caused by audio drivers. Please navigate to your motherboard support page to download and install audio drivers for your computer.

If you have Realtek Audio chipset, you may use DDU to completely clean up old Realtek Audio drivers before installing new one. It's best to run DDU on Safe Mode.

After that, press the combination Windows + R > insert mmsys.cpl > OK > double-click on your output device > Advanced tab > change Default Format to another one to see if the problem can be solved.

I hope that above information is helpful to you.

    Hii,

Open the command prompt (admin) and run the commands: sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth, wait for the process to finish and restart the computer.

Then perform a clean boot and if you want to uninstall applications that you do not use.

Download Lantecy Mon for free, take a screenshot and post it here, see if there is a high Lantecy driver and take a screenshot and post it here

If it is a laptop or desktop, if possible, could you provide the laptop model or your desktop configuration?

    Thanks

If your PC is experiencing slow motion audio and video playback, it could be related to several factors, including issues with drivers or system performance. Here are some potential causes and solutions:

    1. Driver Issues: Sometimes, audio and video playback problems can stem from outdated or incompatible drivers. Ensure that your graphics and audio drivers are up to date. You can check for updates through Windows Update or the manufacturer's website.
    2. Long Running Interrupt Service Routines (ISR) and Deferred Procedure Calls (DPC): These can cause delays in the audio engine, leading to playback issues. If there are long-running ISRs or DPCs, they may affect media performance. You might want to analyze your system for any such issues.
    3. Client Side Starvation: This occurs when the source cannot read from the disk or network fast enough to keep up with real-time decoding and rendering. Check if your disk is under heavy load, which might cause the playback to lag.
    4. Performance Assessment: You can run a performance assessment to check for any underlying issues that might be affecting your system's ability to play audio and video smoothly. This can help identify if there are any bottlenecks in your system.
    5. System Resources: Even if Task Manager shows that CPU, GPU, and RAM usage are normal, other background processes could still be affecting performance. Try closing unnecessary applications or processes to see if that improves playback.

If the problem persists after trying these solutions, consider performing a clean boot to see if a startup program is causing the issue.
