The MS tech rep on the phone (Jone) helped me get the newer email account (Mack@[Moderator Note: PII removed]) fully working on Classic Outlook on my laptop, and then we got it added to my phone. I got it to show up on the phone, listed underneath the older one ([Moderator Note: PII removed]@SolidThinking.org) when I click on Profile then Settings, then Accounts. But I don't know how to stop display of the old email address ([Moderator Note: PII removed]@SolidThinking.org) on the phone, in favor of the new one. I checked the SMTP and other details and the incoming and outgoing smtp addresses and server numbers exactly match the settings in Outlook over on my laptop. And the account works fine on that laptop.
No matter what actions I take on the cell phone, I still need to be able to see both email accounts on my laptop, as I can now. So I don't want to change settings at the email service provider (namecheap.com) since that will stop the laptop's connection from working, right? But I only want to access one of them, the new one, on the mobile phone. And I must now be VERY close to having this email account working there. Can someone please help me?

    Hi Mack McKinney,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

In Outlook for iPhone, this usually happens because the app is in All Accounts (Unified Inbox) or is still defaulting to the older mailbox for sending.

    Try this quick fix:

    1. Open Outlook and tap the Inbox/Menu icon (top-left).
    2. On the far-left vertical strip, you’ll see two account circles (one for @SolidThinking.org, one for Mack@…).
    3. Tap the Mack@… circle. This exits All Accounts and makes Outlook behave as if the old account isn’t active without deleting it.

If you still see the old address when composing a message, start a new email, tap the From field, and switch it to Mack@… (and set it as default if that option appears).

If you let me know whether the issue was the wrong inbox being shown or the wrong From address when composing, I can point you to the exact setting to lock it in.

Please let me know if this proves useful to you, or if you would like further assistance.

I'm looking forward to your reply.

To resolve the issue of the old email address displaying on your iPhone while you want to prioritize the new email account, you can try the following steps:

    1. Remove the Old Account from the iPhone: If you do not need to access the old email account on your iPhone, you can remove it from the device. Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts, select the old email account (******@SolidThinking.org), and choose Delete Account. This will not affect the account on your laptop.
    2. Set Default Account: If you want to keep both accounts on your iPhone but prefer to use the new one, you can set it as the default account for sending emails. Go to Settings > Mail > Default Account and select your new email account (Mack@MackMcKinney).
    3. Check Mail App Settings: Ensure that the Mail app on your iPhone is configured to show the new account prominently. You can check the settings under Settings > Mail > Accounts to ensure everything is set correctly.
    4. Sync Settings: Make sure that your iPhone is syncing properly with the email server. You can do this by going to Settings > Mail > Accounts, selecting the new account, and ensuring that the settings for fetching new data are correct.

By following these steps, you should be able to prioritize the new email account on your iPhone without affecting your access to both accounts on your laptop.
