Google maps cannot locate me when I am using Edge or chrome
Other issues or features related to Microsoft Edge on Windows 11
Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.
Yes, Google Maps works with Microsoft Edge and Chrome. So it should be able to locate you.
If it can’t find your location, it’s usually a permission or settings issue.
To help narrow down the issue:
In Edge/Chrome, did you allow Google Maps to access your location?
Is Location turned on in Windows?
Are you using a VPN or proxy?
Does location work in other apps or websites?

Google Maps works very well on my copy of Microsoft Edge. It's the same Google Maps that's on Chrome, Brave, Firefox and other browsers.
Yes, Microsoft Edge can work with Google Maps. However, if Google Maps is unable to locate you while using either Edge or Chrome, it may be related to the location settings on your device or the browser's permissions for accessing your location.
In Microsoft Edge, the browser requests permission to access your precise location through the Geolocation API. If location services are turned off on your device, Edge will attempt to estimate your location based on local network information. You can manage site permissions for location access in Edge's settings under Privacy, search, and services > Site permissions > Location.
If you are having issues with location detection, ensure that location services are enabled on your device and that Edge has permission to access your location.
