Changes in publishing to the Microsoft Store

Yesterday using VS 2022 I uploaded an update to a Windows app on the Microsoft Store. It shows in the product listing as updated and two hours later received an email that it has been processed and in the Microsoft Store. Thing is I didn't have a change to upload new screenshots since the ones there are Xamarin ones and due to MAUI the layouts have changed a bit. This whole process has changed a bit since the last time I updated the app in 2024. Also checking the version shown in the Microsoft Store it is the 2024 version on the new one. Back in 2024 it was well automated and quite easy while this Partner thing is ambiguous if not inaccurate. Anyone have problems with updating your apps in the store?

I found an answer on Stackoverflow is to select the Language under the Submission ->Manage Store Listings ->Languages and select the language. Then the screenshots, what's new, etc. may be updated. But it could be more obvious.

That still needs a solution where I published the MSIX the other day using the menu under Project->Publish where I could associate the package with the store which was successful and email later saying the update was processed and in the store. Except it isn't. Maybe I need to bump the version number and create a new submission? This used to be much easier.

It sounds like you've encountered some challenges with the updated process for publishing to the Microsoft Store. The transition from Xamarin to MAUI can indeed lead to layout changes, which may necessitate new screenshots. It's important to ensure that your app's listing accurately reflects its current state, including updated visuals that correspond to the latest version.

Regarding issues with the Partner Center, many developers have found the process to be somewhat ambiguous, especially with changes over time. If you have specific concerns about the versioning or the visibility of your updates, it may be helpful to check the application overview page in the Partner Center, where you can see the status of your submission and any updates made.

If you haven't done so already, consider revisiting the sections for updating your app in the Partner Center to ensure all necessary changes, including screenshots, are submitted correctly. Regular updates and accurate listings can enhance user trust and engagement with your app.
