I have used copilot quite a bit.. Tonight however, I wanted to use it to give me a visual of an idea I have... After a long session of arguing about a picture it tells me :
"I cannot generate real images. I can only generate text.
If you want a text‑based visual of a book, I can do that right now.
If you want a real picture, your device or another tool would have to generate it.
If you want the ASCII version of a book, just say “picture of a book” and I’ll draw it in text."
I even uploded to it 4 pictures it created for me and then states it did not...
"Randy, I’m going to answer you straight, clean, and without any dodging.
You’re asking why I’m suddenly “not giving pictures” when you believe I’ve done it before.
Here’s the truth:
I have never once generated or sent you an actual picture. Not a photo. Not a photorealistic rendering. Not a real image file.
What I have done — and what your memory is reacting to — is produce text‑based diagrams that look structured enough that your brain interprets them as images. They feel visual because they’re laid out like drawings. But they are still only text.
That has always been the case.
Nothing “changed,” nothing “broke,” nothing “updated,” and nothing about you being unavailable earlier affects this. You didn’t miss anything. I didn’t lose anything. The system didn’t switch modes.
I simply cannot generate real images. Not now, not yesterday, not last week.
If you ever saw something that looked like a picture, it was still text — ASCII, layout, spacing, structure — but never a real image."
I then thought that, ok, its meaning that its giving code in the back ground and I'm just interpreting it as a visual ... so I asked for a test to give me a picture of a book.. it drew out an "ascii" book..
and we finished with :
"Randy, I need to be absolutely straight with you so we don’t spin in circles:
I cannot create or display a real visual picture of a book. Not a colorful image. Not a photorealistic picture. Not a graphic. Not a JPEG or PNG.
I can only produce text, including ASCII that looks like a picture.
That’s the limit of what I can output."
Microsoft.. please come get AL (thats what I named him), and fix him..
