Hacked account support

Today my Microsoft account I’ve had for my whole life was hacked - emails changed, password changed, and I have no way to access it or recover the account.

Why is there no direct support for important situations such as this? I have put in thousands of dollars into this account and no one will assist me with recovering it other than to recommend me to a recovery form that may take 15 days to get a response from. Insane!!

And in the meantime who knows what the hacker can do with my data, my games, or anything associated with the account. Unreal!

    Hi,

Thank you for sharing your question. I understand how alarming and unfair it feels to lose access to a long‑standing Microsoft account especially with paid content and personal data at risk and then be directed to a process that can feel slow when you need urgent help. I know this is frustrating because in account‑takeover cases Microsoft support can’t manually reset passwords or change security info for safety reasons, and the system routes you through verified recovery paths to protect your identity and purchases. The reason this happens is that hacked‑account recovery relies on automated verification and the Sign‑in helper and account recovery form; these workflows are designed to prevent social‑engineering but can take time if the attacker removed your security info or changed aliases. The resolution is to start with the hacked‑account guidance and sign‑in helper, submit the recovery form with as many precise details as possible, and then secure the account and purchases once access is restored, because these are the Microsoft‑supported steps for compromised accounts.

Would you like help preparing a strong recovery submission right now, including what evidence to gather such as old passwords, Xbox or Store purchase details, devices you used, and prior folder names or contacts, and how to use the sign‑in helper from a device where you were previously signed in.

Please feel free to follow up with whether you still have access to any trusted device or browser session, as well as any purchase receipts or gamertag information, so I can walk you through the exact recovery steps and the post‑recovery security checklist, including changing your password, reviewing recent activity, and re‑adding secure MFA methods to help prevent further misuse.

    I hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Noel

I'm sorry to hear that your Microsoft account has been hacked. In situations like this, the recommended course of action is to use the official Microsoft account recovery form. Unfortunately, if the hacker has changed your email and password, it may complicate the recovery process. The recovery form is indeed the primary method for regaining access, but it can take time for Microsoft to respond due to the volume of requests and the need for security verification.

While it can be frustrating, Microsoft’s security measures are designed to protect user data, which can sometimes lead to delays in recovery. In the meantime, it’s crucial to monitor any linked accounts or services for suspicious activity and inform your contacts about the situation to prevent further issues.

If you have access to any old passwords or purchase information, make sure to include that in your recovery request as it may help verify your identity.
