I can't seem to verify using the MS Authenticator -- it says I don't have a verified ID. When I try to add one it fails (no email with the code received).

Close all open instances of the authenticator app on your mobile, this is usually done by swiping up, finding the app, then swiping up again.  Ensure you close all instances of the authenticator app before relaunching.

    • Make sure you are using the latest version of Microsoft Authenticator (Android/iOS). Older versions may not fully support Verified ID.
    • Clear your web cache, if you are accessing the Verified ID setup through a browser, clear your cache or try completing the process using a different browser.
    • Avoid Weak Internet Connections or VPNs. Do not use a weak Wi‑Fi connection or any VPN/Proxy service. These can interrupt the secure handshake between the browser and Microsoft Authenticator, causing technical errors.
    • Try a different device. Some device‑specific settings or security policies may interfere with the process. If possible, try completing the setup on another phone.

If you're having trouble verifying your identity using the Microsoft Authenticator app and you are not receiving the email with the verification code, here are some steps you can take:

    1. Check Email Address: Ensure that the email address you used for the identity validation request is correct and not a distribution list. The email must be able to receive links from external addresses.
    2. Email Verification Link: If you missed the email verification link, you will need to create a new identity validation request. The previous link cannot be resent.
    3. Role Assignment: Make sure that you have the Artifact Signing Identity Verifier role assigned to your account. If you do not have this role, you won't be able to proceed with the verification process.
    4. Contact Support: If the issue persists, consider reaching out to Azure Support or using Microsoft Q&A with the tag artifact-signing for further assistance.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the verification issue with your Artifact Signing identity validation.
