    Hello,

The issue happens because Word needs Section Breaks to treat parts of the document differently. The easiest way to fix this is to let Word do it for you.

Highlight only the text you want to turn into two columns. Go to the Layout tab, click on Columns, and select More Columns at the bottom of the list. In the window that opens, select Two and make sure the Apply to box says Selected text. Click OK.

Word should automatically add the section breaks before and after your selection so the rest of the document stays as one column.

To create a two-column layout for only one specific page in a Word document, you need to use section breaks. Here’s how you can do it:

    1. Insert a Section Break: Place your cursor at the end of the page before the one you want to change to two columns. Go to the Layout tab, click on Breaks, and select Next Page under Section Breaks. This creates a new section starting on the next page.
    2. Change Columns for the New Section: Now, place your cursor in the new section (the page you want to have two columns). Go to the Layout tab again, click on Columns, and select Two. This will apply the two-column layout only to this specific section.
    3. Insert Another Section Break: If you want to return to a single-column layout on the following page, insert another section break at the end of the two-column page and set the columns back to one for the next section.

By using section breaks, you can control the layout of individual pages without affecting the entire document.
