Hello Kelly Winter, welcome to Q&A Forum.
Base on the screenshot, Outlook is not saving the change because the Calendar settings currently have an end time/date that is earlier than the start time/date.
Please go to: Outlook > File > Options > Calendar > Work time and make sure End time is later than Start time (for example: Start 9:00 AM and End 5:00 PM), then click OK to save.
Regarding the issue where “£” changes to “?”, please review this article to see if it matches your symptoms: Classic Outlook replaces accented and extended characters with question marks.
If the article does not match your situation, could you please share a bit more detail so we can narrow it down?
- Your Outlook version/build (File > Office Account > About Outlook)
- Whether it also happens in Outlook on the web
- A screenshot showing exactly where “£” becomes “?” (compose window / Sent Items / received email)
- Where does “£” turn into “?” (email body, subject, signature, calendar item, etc.)
- Does it happen when typing “£”, or only when copying/pasting it (e.g., from Word/Excel/web)?
Looking forward to your reply.
