Hey everyone,

I am working on a brand new server 2022 image ive just deployed.

Installed the RDS Roles using the wizard from the dashboard:

However when i go to install licences, its stuck on the below:

Naturally I have set up the name and company name correctly when using the web browser. But this Retail Purchase license pack is incorrect, and there is no way I can see to change this to "Select Plus" which is the licence program.

Or am I chasing the wrong rabbit down a whole?

Any help would be greatfully recieved!

Many thanks

Tom

    Hello Tom,

This issue is not related to Windows for Business or Windows 365 Enterprise; it is strictly a Windows Server 2022 Remote Desktop Services licensing problem. The wizard defaults to “License Pack (Retail Purchase)” because the license server was activated using the Web Browser method, which often restricts available license program options. To install Select Plus CALs, the license server must first be properly activated through the Remote Desktop Licensing Manager using the “Automatic connection” method. Once the server is activated correctly, the Install Licenses Wizard will allow you to choose “Select” and enter the license pack ID from VLSC. If the option still does not appear, it usually means the CALs were issued under the wrong program type, and you’ll need to escalate with your licensing provider or Microsoft Volume Licensing support to have them corrected.

I hope you've found something useful here. If it helps you get more insight into the issue, it's appreciated to accept the answer. Should you have more questions, feel free to leave a message. Have a nice day!

    Harry.
