The site appears to be a bit screwy at the moment. I wrote an Answer which immediately was Deleted so I wrote another which was accepted. Now I see that the original [which had been delete] is restored without any action on my part. Ya gotta love AI [Absolute Idiocy].
Need help resolving issue where Excel is asking if I want to save a workbook when no changes have been made
I have a specific workbook that asks me if I want to save my changes, even when all I have done is opened it and then closed it.
I have seen suggestions in many places on how to resolve this issue, tried those suggestions, but the issue remains.
Help greatly appreciated.

2026-02-19T21:20:25.4933333+00:00 I am struggling with the behavior of this "forum" and things that I provide an answer to, that seem logical, are getting deleted or comments being deleted.
Please provide me with some guidance. Please.
A Visitor Moderator suggested that is say - May I receive a manual review/restore?

Could it be made available for viewing. It has relevance.

For example, dynamic functions such as NOW() & TODAY() automatically update. Links to external sources may be set to update automatically as well. Without access to the workbook it's impossible to be specific as to the cause.
Perhaps the Find feature can help locate dynamic functions & Data> Edit Links... can identify links to other sources.

Certain functions [e.g., NOW(), TODAY()] update automatically. Links to external sources may be set to update automatically as well.
Without access to the workbook it's impossible to make a specific determination. You can use Find to locate specific content & use Data> Edit Links in the main menu. Other than that, manual examination may be the only means of identifying what triggers the prompt unless someone can offer a programmatic option.
