Last year I "converted" my 365 business subscription to a 365 personal subcriptions as I am not running my company "Strandli Consulting" any more. I want to tide up iall the different accounts and e-mail addresses, as it creates a lot of confusion and trouble when activating office 365.

How do I get rid of the rid of the "heritage" from Strandli conulting, the questions regarding "the IT department etc.?

I WANT

*I want to use ******@strandli.no as my ONLY e-mail address linked to my 365 personal

*I want to be able to log in without being asked to choose between my school/job andress and my personal address.

*I want to DELETE the ******@strandli.onmicrosoft.com account and the business relations to it

    Hi,

Thank you for sharing your question. I appreciate you taking the time to explain your situation. I understand how confusing and frustrating it can be to manage multiple Microsoft accounts, especially when a former Microsoft 365 Business subscription continues to show up and forces you to choose between a work or school account and your personal account during sign‑in. I know this can get in the way when you simply want one clean personal Microsoft 365 setup. The reason this is happening is that your old “Strandli Consulting” Microsoft 365 Business tenant and the corresponding @strandli.onmicrosoft.com work account still exist in Microsoft Entra ID, so Microsoft continues to treat that identity as a business account even though you no longer need it. The resolution is to remove the business tenant, delete the onmicrosoft.com account, and ensure that your @strandli.no address is used only on your personal Microsoft account, which stops the prompts asking whether you are signing in with a work/school or personal identity.

Would you like me to guide you through the exact cleanup steps, such as confirming your admin ownership of the old business tenant, deleting the Entra ID directory, or verifying that your personal account is correctly configured with @strandli.no as the primary sign‑in alias?

Please feel free to follow up if you'd like a more detailed walkthrough or if you want me to help you write the final instructions for your account cleanup.

    I hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Noel

To remove your business accounts and tidy up your email addresses associated with your Microsoft 365 subscription, follow these steps:

    1. Delete the Business Account: You can remove the ******@strandli.onmicrosoft.com account by signing into the Microsoft 365 admin center. Navigate to Users > Active Users, select the account you want to delete, and follow the prompts to remove it. Make sure to back up any important data before deletion.
    2. Set Your Personal Email as Primary: To use ******@strandli.no as your only email address, you will need to ensure that this email is set as the primary email for your personal Microsoft 365 account. You can do this by going to Your Account settings and updating your email preferences.
    3. Log In Without Choosing Between Accounts: To avoid being prompted to choose between your school/job address and your personal address, ensure that you are signing in with your personal account only. You may need to log out of all accounts and then log back in using your personal credentials.
    4. Contact Support for Assistance: If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, consider contacting Microsoft support for help with account management and email settings.

By following these steps, you should be able to streamline your Microsoft 365 experience and eliminate confusion with multiple accounts.
