In the mobile app

  • when you reply or create new mail, it skips the sender and goes straight to the body
  • it creates multiple drafts when replying

In the desktop

  • it creates multiple drafts wehn replying

    Hi @Russell Smith

Thank you for contacting the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I tried to reproduce the behavior you described on both Outlook for Android and Outlook for Desktop (New and Classic versions), but I was not able to observe the same behavior. To better understand your situation and ensure I can provide the right guidance, may I clarify the following points?

    1. When you mention Outlook Desktop, could you specify whether you are using the New Outlook or the Classic version? Does the issue appear in both, or only in one of them? Additionally, does this also occur in Outlook on the web?
    2. Regarding the multiple drafts, may I confirm whether the Drafts folder shows more than one draft being created when you reply to an email?
    3. Does this occur only with the affected account while other accounts on the same device function normally? Is it happening with one specific sender or with all senders?
    4. Since your post is tagged under "For education", I would also like to check whether other students in your school are experiencing the same behavior. Does it also occur when you switch to another device?

In the meantime, you may consider removing and re‑adding the account to refresh the configuration, as this can sometimes help restore proper syncing.

If you have any screenshots that show the behavior more clearly, please feel free to share them through private message.
Please check your inbox for an email with the subject “New private message on Microsoft Q&A question” to review my response and look for “View message” in the banner above the post to access the private message chat.
