Teams links disappear

When I accept an invitation to Teams, Outlook puts a reminder in my calendar. Great! But then it deletes the email with that rather useful link to join the meeting. When the scheduled time arrives, I spend precious time looking for the link. Is there a setting that creates an appointment in calendar, keeping the link?

When you accept a Teams meeting invitation in Outlook, the email containing the meeting link may be deleted, but you can still access the link through your calendar. Unfortunately, there isn't a specific setting in Outlook that allows you to keep the email while also creating a calendar appointment with the link. However, you can manually copy the meeting link from the email before accepting it or use the calendar entry to join the meeting directly.

To ensure you have access to the link, consider the following steps:

    1. Copy the link from the invitation email before accepting it.
    2. Check your calendar for the meeting entry, which should include the link to join the meeting.
    3. If you need to refer back to the email, you might want to keep it in your inbox or move it to a specific folder for easy access.

This way, you can minimize the time spent searching for the link when the meeting time arrives.

    Hey there, Roger Saxon

The link should be within the calendar invite. Please can you click onto the Calendar app within Outlook.

Then navigate to the event and click onto it. You should be to click onto it, then see the event details.

    User's image

It should allow you to join straight from the event.

    Does this show for you?

    Thanks,
    Nathan
