Outlook Calendar appointments will adjust automatically when you travel, provided your computer’s system time is updated. Because Classic Outlook relies on the time settings of your Windows operating system, it may not automatically detect your location. To ensure your calendar updates correctly when you arrive at your destination, you can try:
- Update Windows Time: Right click the clock in your Windows taskbar and select Adjust date and time. Change the Time Zone dropdown to your current location.
- Outlook Adjusts: Once Windows is updated, Outlook will instantly shift your appointments to reflect the local time
To avoid confusion, you can display two time zones side-by-side in your calendar (ex: "Home" and "Work Trip").
- Go to File > Options > Calendar.
- Scroll to Time zones and check Show a second time zone.
Additionally, if you create an event as "All Day," it is not tied to a specific hour. However, if you travel across enough time zones, an All-Day event may appear to span two days (ex: starting at 7:00 PM on Tuesday and ending at 7:00 PM on Wednesday) because the 24-hour block has shifted relative to your new local time.
I hope this information proves helpful.
