In the last 3 months it has discconected twice with this error:

"Pre-attestation health checks confirm a critical component has failed, and the device is not expected to pass attestation.

Please see C:\WINDOWS\Logs\MeasuredBoot\0000000035-0000000000.json for detailed information on what checks were made."

only fix i have found so far is to physically dissconnect the drive from my pc and reinstall it again.

is there another fix that i can use or try?

(dont know if the right tag is used so i apologize for that in advance)

    Hi Anton Sjöling,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

The message you're seeing usually appears when Windows detects a mismatch during early startup checks. When something changes unexpectedly, Windows may temporarily disconnect access to protect your files.

Here are some possible troubleshooting steps that you can consider trying:

    1, Repair system files

    • Open Command Prompt (run as Administrator)
    • Run sfc /scannow
    • Restart after completion.

2, Check TPM and Secure Boot

    • Press Win + R > type tpm.msc
    • Confirm status shows “TPM is ready for use”
    • Restart and confirm Secure Boot is enabled in BIOS/UEFI.

    3, Update firmware

    • Install the latest BIOS/UEFI update from your PC or motherboard manufacturer.
    • Update your SSD/NVMe firmware if available.

    4, Refresh storage drivers

    • Open Device Manager
    • Expand Storage controllers
    • Uninstall each controller (do not check “delete driver”)
    • Restart and allow Windows to reinstall automatically.

If the behavior repeats after these steps, it may indicate a firmware or storage‑hardware condition.

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with your storage drive that may be related to its health or connectivity. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Check Device Manager: Look for any issues with the drive in Device Manager. If there are any devices with an exclamation mark, it may indicate a problem. You can try uninstalling the device and then scanning for hardware changes to see if it resolves the issue.
    2. Run Disk Check: You can run a disk check to see if there are any errors on the drive. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command chkdsk /f X: (replace X: with the drive letter of your storage drive).
    3. Check Cables and Connections: Ensure that the physical connections (cables and ports) are secure. Sometimes, loose connections can cause intermittent disconnections.
    4. Power Management Settings: Check your power management settings to ensure that the drive is not being turned off to save power. You can do this in the Device Manager by right-clicking the drive, selecting Properties, and then checking the Power Management tab.
    5. Update Drivers: Make sure that your storage drivers are up to date. You can check for updates in Device Manager or visit the manufacturer's website for the latest drivers.
    6. Check for Firmware Updates: If your drive has firmware updates available, applying those updates may resolve the issue.
    7. Backup Data: If the drive continues to disconnect, consider backing up any important data as a precaution against potential drive failure.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be worth considering replacing the drive if it is still under warranty or consulting with the manufacturer for further assistance.
