OneNote on tablet not syncing with OneNote in cloud

OneNote on my Android tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite) does not sync to OneNote in the cloud. This means that OneNote content entered on the tablet is not viewable on other devices and also that content entered on other devices is not viewable on the tablet. The force sync does not resolve this. Airplane mode is off. Wifi is connected. Both OneNote and OneDrive settings appear to have all permissions enabled, and no disabling of permissions after a period of inactivity. Connected to my mobile phone as hotspot and synced and that did not resolve it. Have not logged out/in of OneNote on tablet for fear of losing unsynced content (since tablet input is not making it to the cloud). Have rebooted tablet a few times. Here is what you can do to fix this sync issue:

Make sure your OneNote is update to the latest version.

First, back up the unsynced content locally on your device, do this before signing out:

In OneNote on the tablet:

• Open the unsync notes
• Use Share > Send copy of page (PDF or image)
• Or copy all content and paste into Samsung Notes, or a text file, or Email draft (offline is fine)

Next let clear OneNote cache:

• Android Settings > Apps > OneNote > Storage
• Tap Clear cache (not “Clear data”)
• Reopen OneNote and wait a few minutes on Wi‑Fi

Cache clearing is a should help with the fail sync

Because you have backup the content locally, now you can also try sign in/sign out OneNote to reset the sync.
