I've set the system to advance cursor to resulting box... word doesn't recognize this

I viewed a 2019 post about this same thing..... closing out a word document click the x .. the cursor should now advance to the save box .... it does NOT ... I'm perplexed by this ....

May not seem like much .. but, I use the mouse... click the x and expect to hit enter when AS IT SHOULD ADVANCE TO THAT SPOT ... but, nooooo - please fix.OR am I missing something and how to make this happen?
