Microsoft Store and Windows Update not working after installing FACEIT

Question

Hello,

I installed FACEIT (including FACEIT Anti-Cheat), and since then I can no longer open the Microsoft Store or use Windows Update.

Windows Update gives an error, and when I try to access update.microsoft.com, I get a certificate verification error.

Has anyone experienced this issue or knows how to fix it?

I’m using Windows 11 (latest version).

FACEIT causing root certificate error issue seems to be a common issue and has been reported by many users.

You should try reinstalling its root certificate, or scan Windows system for corrupt system files.

Hi,

Have you uninstalled Faceit? This can be the cause of your current issue. Make sure to clean uninstall the apps. The steps are usually on their official website.

If you still have the same issue after a clean uninstallation of the app, please try system restore. This will revert your PC's state to a previous point in time.

Please revert to the time before you installed Faceit, then check if you can update and open the Microsoft Store.
