I did the update a while back. Once I updated I lost access to my MS Office apps, and now i'm told to sign up for a subscription. Should i just reboot my system back to factory? or is there some way to get the old Office back on 11?

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

First, please close all Office apps and restart your PC and check again.

    If issue still persists:

Are you able to see your Microsoft Office product under the Services & subscriptions page here: https://account.microsoft.com/services (make sure you’re signed in with the same Microsoft account you used to activate Office)?

If you can see it there, please follow these steps below.

Before installing, it’s a good idea to uninstall all existing versions of Office to avoid conflicts.

    Here’s how:

    • Open the Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
    • Look for any version of Microsoft Office or Office apps, right-click, then choose Uninstall. Please uninstall all Office apps.
    • Once that’s done, restart your computer just to be safe.

    Then, to reinstall Microsoft Office:

    • Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services again.
    • Sign in using the same Microsoft account linked to your license.
    • Find your Microsoft Office you own and click "Install".
    • That will download the installer for the Office apps, just run it and follow the steps.

If anything’s unclear or the "Install" option still doesn’t show, feel free to let me know. I’ll be happy to walk you through it!

I really hope this information is helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Regards,

    John J.D.

If you lost access to your Microsoft Office apps after upgrading to Windows 11, there are a few steps you can take before considering a factory reset:

    1. Check Your Subscription: Ensure that your Microsoft Office subscription is still active. You can do this by signing into your Microsoft account at account.live.com and checking your subscription status.
    2. Sign In to Office Apps: Open any Office app (like Word or Excel) and make sure you are signed in with the correct Microsoft account that has the subscription. Sometimes, signing out and signing back in can resolve access issues.
    3. Update Office: Go to the Office app, click on "File" > "Account" > "Update Options" > "Update Now" to ensure your Office apps are up to date.
    4. Repair Office: You can try repairing your Office installation. Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, select Microsoft Office, and then choose "Change" to repair the installation.
    5. Reinstall Office: If the above steps do not work, you may need to uninstall and then reinstall Office. You can download the installer from your Microsoft account page.

A factory reset should be a last resort, as it will remove all your files and applications. It's usually better to troubleshoot the Office issue first.
