I am blocked for comments on MSN News. I want to know why

I’m currently blocked from commenting on MSN News and I’d like to understand why. When I check my profile, it says: Account restricted. I also see this note dated 2/14/26:

Profile name does not meet guidelines Your profile name doesn't meet our guidelines. To reinstate your commenting ability, edit your profile name.

This is strange, because I’m using my real name, Cynthia Fridsma. I don’t see why my name would be a problem, and I don’t receive any feedback when I click on “Feedback,” so I have no idea what’s going on.

I also read something about a 72‑hour timeout, which would have ended on February 14. Since I still can’t comment, I’d appreciate some clarification.

All the best, Cynthia

It seems that your commenting ability on MSN News has been restricted due to your profile name not meeting their guidelines. Even if you are using your real name, it might still be flagged by their automated moderation system. This can happen if the system misinterprets certain names or if there are specific guidelines that your name inadvertently violates.

Regarding the 72-hour timeout, if that period has passed and you are still unable to comment, it may be necessary to edit your profile name as suggested in the notification you received. If you are not receiving feedback through the feedback button, it could be beneficial to try reaching out through other support channels or forums related to MSN for further assistance.
