Outlook spelling

My Outlook is not showing the red underline for misspelled words. I have already turned on the privacy and Editor settings, but I still cannot see any spelling corrections.

In Compose and reply, there is no option about "Check spelling as you type.User's image

    First of all, I want to begin by sincerely apologizing for the frustration and inconvenience this issue has caused you.

    Based on your description, I understand that you have turned on the Privacy and Editor settings; however, spelling corrections are still not showing up as expected.

    For better assist, please kindly let me know some information:

    • Does the issue occur when using Outlook web, Outlook desktop or both?
    • May I ask whether you are experiencing the same issue in other Office applications, for example Microsoft Word?

    In the meantime, please help check the Windows spell check and language settings by following the steps below:

    Step 1: Check Windows language settings

    • Open Settings on your Windows device.
    • Go to Time & Language > Language & region.
    • Under Windows display language, please make sure English is selected.
    • Review the list under Preferred languages > If you see other language, click this language.
    • Select Remove, if you do not actively use it.

    Step 2: Verify Windows spell checker

    • In Settings, go to Time & Language > Typing.
    • Confirm that Spelling options are enabled.
    • Click Advanced keyboard settings and ensure English is selected as the default input language.

    Step 3: Check language in the Office app

    • Open any Office app (such as Word).
    • Go to File > Options > Language.
    • Under Office authoring languages and proofing, ensure English is set as the default.
    • If other languages appear, you can remove or disable proofing for those languages.

    Additionally, please try repair Outlook app:

    1. Close Outlook and all Office apps
    2. Open Setting > App > Installed apps 
    3. Find Outlook for Window and right-click on it and select Advanced option. 
    4. Choose Repair Option. 
    5. Restart your computer after the repair is complete.
