Hi @Sam Housden,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.
Thanks for reaching out, I understand how frustrating it is when Microsoft Rewards points are deducted but the £5 Xbox Gift Card balance doesn’t appear.
I would like to clarify what when an Xbox Gift Card is redeemed through Microsoft Rewards, a 25‑character code is typically not provided. Instead, the value is applied automatically to the Microsoft account balance used during redemption.
To check what happened, please try the following:
- Sign in to the Microsoft Rewards dashboard using the same Microsoft account that redeemed the reward, then go to Redeem > Order history and locate the £5 Xbox Gift Card entry.
- If the status shows Completed, the funds should be available in that account’s balance for Xbox/Microsoft Store purchases.
- If you didn’t receive a confirmation email, use the Resend option in Order History to send the confirmation again.
If the points were deducted but the reward doesn’t appear in Order History and the balance hasn’t increased, the correct next step is to contact Microsoft Rewards Support, as they are the only team that can verify and correct Rewards redemptions (either crediting the balance or restoring points).
Hope this helps. Please feel free to update with what you see in Order history (e.g., Completed/In progress/missing), and I can suggest the next best step.
Looking forward to your response.
