    Dear Asher De Rock

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand you are having problem with your Outlook.com being incorrectly treated as under 13 and prompting for a parent/guardian, even though your profile shows you’re over 13. Please follow these steps:

    • Check and remove Family Group association (if your account is attached to any family group)
      • Sign in to the Family dashboard and verify whether your account is currently in a Microsoft family group. If it is, have the family organizer remove your account from the family group (or leave the family group if the option is available for your role). See: How to leave a Microsoft family group - Microsoft Support
    • Remove an existing parental-consent link (if consent was previously granted and is “stuck”)
      • If an adult account previously granted consent for your account, that adult can use Microsoft’s Manage permissions page to remove parental consent, then you can retry sign-in. See: Managing parental consent - Microsoft Support
    • Reset the flag
      • Create a new adult Microsoft account, add the affected account as a family member, complete the consent/permission prompt using the adult account, then remove/leave the family group after the restriction clears.
    • Escalate through Microsoft Support if the steps above fail
      • Visit Contact - Microsoft Support
      • Type a brief description of your issue in the search box
      • Scroll down to the bottom > select Sign in to contact support
      • Log in to your personal Microsoft account.
      • Under Products & Services, select "Other Products"; Under Categories, select a suitable Category.
      • Click "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" (during business hours)

If Microsoft is indicating that your account is under the age of 13 despite your profile showing a date of birth that suggests otherwise, it may be due to a discrepancy in the information provided during account creation or a system error. Microsoft accounts for children are defined as those linked to an adult account when the user is under the age of majority in their region.

To resolve this issue, you may need to verify your date of birth and ensure that it is correctly reflected in your account settings. If the problem persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance, as they can help clarify the situation and make necessary adjustments if there is an error in their system.
