    Hi Bill Martin,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A!

On macOS, MSN.com videos may sometimes fail to resume after an ad. This happens because the site’s scripts don’t always re‑initialize the video stream correctly once the ad finishes, leaving the player unresponsive.

While this isn’t the expected behavior, it can occur due to the way Edge interacts with the macOS ecosystem. Unfortunately, there isn’t an "100% confirmed" user‑side fix at the moment. If you’d like this issue to be tracked, consider submitting feedback so the MSN team is aware:

    1. Open Microsoft Edge > press Alt + Shift + I to open the feedback form.
    2. Or click three dots next to profile > Help and feedback > Send feedback

In the meantime, here are some suggestions that might improve the situation:

    • Try another browser for MSN videos
    • Watch the video from another source that's not MSN
    • Disable content blockers and tracking protection for MSN to test:
      • Go to Edge Settings > Privacy, search, and services
      • Temporarily set Tracking prevention to Basic (or OFF)
      • Disable any ad‑blocking or privacy extensions (try InPrivate).

If you want, let me know which macOS version you’re on, and whether the issue happens in all browsers or only Edge. We can dig deeper to see if it’s by design or some underlying issues with the settings.

If the video on msn.com is not continuing after an ad plays, it could be due to a few reasons. Here are some potential troubleshooting steps you can take:

    1. Check for Updates: Ensure that your browser is up to date, as outdated browsers can sometimes cause playback issues.
    2. Clear Cache and Cookies: Sometimes, clearing your browser's cache and cookies can resolve playback problems.
    3. Disable Extensions: Browser extensions can interfere with video playback. Try disabling any extensions to see if that resolves the issue.
    4. Try a Different Browser: If the problem persists, try accessing the video in a different web browser to see if the issue is specific to the one you are using.
    5. Check Internet Connection: Ensure that you have a stable internet connection, as interruptions can affect video playback.
    6. Contact Support: If none of the above solutions work, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.

These steps should help in diagnosing and potentially resolving the issue with video playback after ads.
