Hello,

For many years, I have not been receiving many emails. Namely from friends and family. Those are just the ones I'm aware of not receiving. None of those contacts appear on my blocked contacts list.

Please help.

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

To help narrow down the issue:

    1. Are you using Outlook on the web (outlook.com), Outlook for Windows/Mac, or the Outlook mobile app?
    2. Is this happening on one device or on all your devices?
    3. Have you checked if Focused Inbox is turned on and if your emails might be going to the Other tab instead of the main Inbox?

In the meantime, I recommend checking out this Microsoft support article:

    Check any Outlook rules:

    • In https://outlook.live.com/mail go to Settings > View all Outlook settings > Mail > Rules and Mail > Forwarding to make sure no one has set up rules to forward or delete your messages.

If the issue persists, please provide more details by answering my questions.

Click "Add comment" below to let me know.

    Regards,

    John J.D.

If you are not receiving many emails, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot:

    1. Check Spam/Junk Folder: Sometimes, emails from friends and family may end up in the spam or junk folder. Make sure to check there.
    2. Review Email Rules: It's possible that there are rules set up in your email account that are diverting emails to specific folders or deleting them. Review your rules to ensure none are affecting incoming emails.
    3. Storage Space: Ensure that your email account has enough storage space. If your storage is full, you may not receive new emails.
    4. Blocked Contacts: Although you mentioned that none of the emails appear on your blocked contacts, it's worth double-checking to ensure that no accidental blocks have occurred.
    5. Email Forwarding: If you have set up email forwarding, verify that it is configured correctly and that emails are not being forwarded to another account unintentionally.
    6. Contact Support: If the issue persists, consider reaching out to your email provider's support team for further assistance.

These steps should help you identify the cause of the issue and hopefully restore your ability to receive emails from friends and family.
