How to revert to print screen key or alt - print screen key for screenshots

All of a sudden I can not take a screenshot of the active window. I used to be able to do an alt-print screen for the active window and print screen for the whole display. Now, I have to do Win-print screen for the whole display and there seems to be no option to do the active window. Also, the display does a quick shadow? when I do the Win-print screen. How do I go back to the previous set up please.

    Hi,

Unfortunately, it appears that Alt + PrtScn is no longer working for capturing active window. However, what happens when you press Win + Shift + S? Does a small toolbar appear on your screen that lets you choose different screenshot options, such as capturing the active window or selecting a specific area?

If you're unable to use the Alt + Print Screen combination to capture the active window and are instead required to use Win + Print Screen, it may be due to changes in your system settings or updates. Here are a few things you can try to revert to the previous setup:

    1. Check Windows Settings: Go to Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard and ensure that the option "Use the Print Screen key to open screen snipping" is turned off. This setting can change the default behavior of the Print Screen key.
    2. Keyboard Shortcuts: Remember that the Alt + Print Screen combination should still work for capturing the active window unless overridden by another application or setting. Ensure no other software is intercepting these key combinations.
    3. Graphics Drivers: Sometimes, graphics driver updates can affect keyboard shortcuts. Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date and check if reverting to a previous version resolves the issue.
    4. Multiple Displays: If you are using multiple monitors, ensure that your display settings are configured correctly, as this can sometimes affect how screenshots are captured. You can check this in the Display settings in the Control Panel.

If the issue persists, you may want to consult the Microsoft support forums or documentation for further assistance.
