Hello, I reactivated my microsoft 365 with the monthly subscription of $18.90 but microsoft is attempting to charge an amount of $216 on top of that and when I called and talked to Microsoft, they have no idea what or where that charge came from. so I contacted the bank and they cancelled that card. I went ahead and ran another debit card, and it did the same thing. Does ANYONE know what this charge is? i have no email because of this and now the bank is declining the charge of the 216 again. anyone help? i have spoke to Microsoft 4 separate times on the phone about this.

It seems you're facing an issue with unexpected billing related to your Microsoft 365 subscription. Here are some detailed steps and considerations that might help clarify the situation:

    1. Check Your Subscription Details: Log into your Microsoft account and navigate to the services and subscriptions section. This will allow you to verify your current subscription plan and its billing cycle. Ensure that you are only subscribed to the plan you intended to activate.
    2. Billing Frequency Changes: If you changed your billing frequency from monthly to annual, this could result in a larger charge. The default billing cycle is monthly, and switching to annual can cancel the benefit and start charging your credit card for the full annual amount.
    3. Multiple Accounts or Subscriptions: Sometimes, users may have multiple Microsoft accounts or subscriptions. Check if there are any other subscriptions linked to your email that could be causing the additional charge.
    4. Contacting Support: Since you've already contacted Microsoft support multiple times, it might be helpful to ask for a detailed billing statement or clarification on the charges. Make sure to have your account information ready to expedite the process.
    5. Bank and Card Issues: Since your bank has canceled your card due to the charge, ensure that your new card is properly linked to your Microsoft account. If the charge continues to appear, inform your bank about the situation so they can assist you further.
    6. Monitor for Phishing Scams: Be cautious of any emails or communications that seem suspicious. Ensure that any correspondence regarding billing comes from official Microsoft domains.

If the issue persists, consider escalating your case within Microsoft support or using their online support resources for further assistance.
