Outlook Classic version I'm not able to make it classic desktop so as to be able to backup

If you are using the new Outlook for Windows, it does not support exporting to a PST file yet. To create a backup, you need to switch to Classic Outlook (desktop app).

Try this:

2. In the top-right corner, look for the “New Outlook” toggle.
