Do you guys offer live agent support? I shared my screen with a "Microsoft Agent" yesterday and was wondering if I may have been scammed.

It was likely real if: You went to the official Microsoft website yourself, clicked "Contact Support," and waited in a queue for a chat or a callback.

It was likely a scam if: The "agent" called you out of the blue, or if you called a phone number that appeared in a "Your computer is infected" pop-up on your screen.

Microsoft does offer live agent support, but it's important to ensure that you are contacting them through official channels. If you shared your screen with someone claiming to be a Microsoft agent, and you initiated the contact through a legitimate Microsoft support channel, it is likely safe. However, if you were contacted unsolicited or through a suspicious method, it may have been a scam.

To verify the legitimacy of the support you received, check the following:

    • Ensure that the contact was made through the official Microsoft support website.
    • Be cautious of unsolicited calls or messages claiming to be from Microsoft, as these are often scams.
    • If you suspect you may have been scammed, you can report it to Microsoft and take steps to secure your account.

Always remember that Microsoft will never ask for remote access to your device through unsolicited communications.
