My account has been hacked by someone in Thailand.

I received two emails saying that there was suspicious activity happening regarding my email account. I tried to use the online system to help the problem, but I could not get anyone at Microsoft to detect that there is an issue. I have no idea what to do. My email interface is all in Thai. I am afraid my information is compromised. How can I speak to someone?

    Hi Jennifer Kelly

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand how frustrating this situation is, especially when you suddenly receive security alerts, the interface switches to another language, and you’re not sure if someone else is inside your account.

Just to confirm, could you let me know are you still able to sign in to your account at all now? Or are you being blocked by a password/verification step?

In addition to the Q&A Assist's answer under your post, please try the following steps:

    1. Make sure the "suspicious activity" emails are real (avoid phishing)

If you’re unsure whether those emails were legitimate, don’t click links in them. Instead, sign in directly to your Microsoft account and check your security page (if still have access). You can see: How to determine if an email from Microsoft support is genuine - Microsoft Learn

    2. Secure your Microsoft account

    3. Review and secure recent sign‑in

    4. Contact Support Team directly

You can reach out directly to the Microsoft Support team. It may offer live chat and, depending on your subscription/region, an option to request a callback:

    • Go to Contact - Microsoft Support
    • Type a brief description of your issue in the search box.
    • Click "Get Help", then scroll to the bottom and select "Contact Support”.
    • Choose the appropriate Products & Services/ Category.
    • Look for and select "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" (during business hours) or a similar callback option (if available). Explain your situation clearly.

Please feel free to let me know how it goes. I truly appreciate your time and understanding.

Go to the Contact Microsoft Support page.

In the search box, type "Agent" or "Account Hacked."

Click Get Help, then scroll to the bottom and select Contact Support.

Crucial Selection: Under "Products and Services," choose Other Products. Under "Category," choose Manage account security.

This should reveal the option to "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" or "Request a callback."

If your account has been hacked and you're facing issues with suspicious activity, here are some steps you can take to regain control:

    1. Account Recovery: Go to the Microsoft account recovery page and follow the prompts to recover your account. Make sure to use any recovery options available, such as alternate email addresses or phone numbers that you may have set up.
    2. Contact Microsoft Support: Since you are having trouble with the online system, it is advisable to contact Microsoft Support directly for assistance. They can help you with account recovery and may have additional tools to verify your identity.
    3. Check for Account Activity: If you regain access, check your account activity for any unauthorized changes or settings, such as forwarding rules or linked accounts that you did not set up.
    4. Secure Your Account: Once you regain access, immediately change your password to a strong, unique one. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) again, and ensure that your recovery options are up to date.
    5. Monitor for Further Issues: Keep an eye on your account for any suspicious activity and inform your contacts about the potential compromise to prevent them from falling victim to phishing attempts.

If you continue to face issues with the recovery process, be persistent in reaching out to their support team for help. You can also use the live chat support option available on the Microsoft website to connect with an agent.
